Daal Ke Kebab

  • Step 1 :

    Wash all the daals and soak it for 5-6 hours.
  • Step 2 :

    Heat a pan, Add 1 litre water to it & let it boil.
  • Step 3 :

    Add 1 TSP salt and 1/2 TSP turmeric powder into the boiling water.
  • Step 4 :

    Now add soaked daal into the water and cook until the daal is soft and mushy.
  • Step 5 :

    Drain the excess water and let the daal cool.
  • Step 6 :

    Heat another pan. Add 1 TBSP of Ghee .
  • Step 7 :

    Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, fennel seeds,ginger, green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder.
  • Step 8 :

    Saute for about 1-2 minutes
  • Step 9 :

    Add daal mixture and cook it for about 10-12 minutes.
  • Step 10 :

    Add Salt in the daal mixture. Roughly mash the cooked daal mixture. Take a bowl, add the coarse daal mixture .
  • Step 11 :

    Add boiled mashed potatoes into the bowl
  • Step 12 :

    Add 1/2 TSP dry mango powder & freshly chopped mint leaves.
  • Step 13 :

    Mix everything together & Kebab dough is ready .
  • Step 14 :

    To prepare kebab filling, take another bowl. Add Hung curd into the bowl.
  • Step 15 :

    Add chopped onion, mint leaves, salt and chopped roasted cashews. Give it a quick stir.
  • Step 16 :

    Now take a little portion of kebab mixture, roll it into round ball. Create a depression at the centre of ball and fill it with kebab filling. Again roll it into smooth flatten patty.
  • Step 17 :

    Coat the kebab patty with bread crumbs .
  • Step 18 :

    Finally you can either deep fry or shallow fry. The Kebabs are ready to serve.
